Frank Hatten serves as the Director of Operations and Outreach for the Cyber-Resilience Resource Center at West Virginia University, where he leads hands-on cybersecurity initiatives designed to strengthen the resilience of small businesses, nonprofits and critical infrastructure across the Appalachian region. He also teaches in West Virginia University’s cybersecurity programs, blending academic instruction with real-world applications to prepare students for the rapidly evolving cyber landscape.

With over a decade of industry experience in IT, Ag Tech, and manufacturing, Frank brings a multidisciplinary approach to risk management, IT systems integration, and experiential learning. He oversees a range of student-led outreach projects, including cyber assessments for banks, infrastructure security for municipalities and technology modernization for rural organizations. He has supported efforts to expand broadband access in rural West Virginia. Under his leadership, the CRRC has grown into a key regional hub for cyber workforce development, economic revitalization and community impact.

Frank also manages enterprise implementation of college platforms like Zoho One to streamline project management, CRM and experiential learning across multiple WVU centers. He is passionate about building bridges between academia and industry, mentoring the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, and driving innovation in underserved communities.
